Learning Together.

Providing a bilingual education throughout Latin America.

SynYouth is a youth-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides weekly online English classes to kids in Latin America, taught 1-on-1 by English-speaking high school and college students.

A major factor in the low English proficiency in Latin America is the low proficiency of many of their teachers; so, by providing kids with 1-on-1 English classes with fluent English speakers, we can make a difference.

You can make a difference.

Easy Teaching.

SynYouth aims to enable Spanish-speaking kids to communicate in English ‘in the real world’. This means that you’ll be teaching practical, everyday English lessons: the future perfect continuous case is out, “How are you?" and “I want to buy the shoes” are in.

Still unsure? Don’t worry—with SynYouth, you will get all the help and support you need. As a SynYouth Tutor, you will be provided with an easy-to-follow curriculum created by a certified ESL teacher, including straightforward grammar lessons, simple vocabulary lists, and engaging activities for you and the student.

No degree required.

The Perfect Online Classroom.

SynYouth connects tutors and students through video communications platform ‘Zoom’, allowing you to hear, see, and share your screen with your student.

With Zoom, both of you can not only see, but also draw and write on the same screen, creating the perfect online classroom.

World Changed.

Volunteer Hours Tracked.

SynYouth is a nonprofit organization, meaning that the hours you spend helping provide a bilingual education to kids in Latin America count towards your volunteer hours.

We certify your hours, and you use them to earn national awards (like ‘The President's Volunteer Service Award’ and ‘The Congressional Award’) and to show to colleges how you use your skills to make an impact on issues that matter to you.

“When young people discover they can be agents of change, wonderful things happen.

They start to serve in the neighborhoods, learn about public issues, create innovative solutions to tough public challenges and eventually become the voters, community project builders and leaders in our communities and nation.”
